So in my opinion, I don’t apologize often, if at all for one simple reason: IF I didn’t mean it I wouldn’t have said it at all.
Now I know this sounds “cold” or “self absorbed” but it’s my attitude about it.
I believe this whole feeling came from years and years of apologies from many individuals. People use 2 phrases way too often: “I’m sorry” and “I love you”. I will write on the “I love you” some other time.
Okay, you kick me in the shin once … I’m sorry … is okay… but you do it again? And then apologize again? I guess the first “sorry” becomes invalid, and automatically makes the second kick in the shin a poor excuse.
It’s an overused phrase and that’s the reason why I don’t use it.
